He offers me his hand to help me off the stool. I take it and now we’re standing across from one another. I look down, as water laps over my feet, and realize I’m standing on top of the Lake.
“Don’t ask. Just trust. You won’t fall in unless you want to.”
“I really don’t want to.” He starts leading me across the Lake towards the light shadows. As we get closer, I start to see a vast expanse of shimmery water. “Are you real, Theo?”
“Oh, I’m very real,” he blinks back at me, soft.
